     Yee Haw Adventure Farm

This hillbilly farm has so many activities it will keep your children entertained for days. Yee Haw Adventure Farm has a five acre corn maze, silo climbing, haunted hayrides and a petting zoo.

Riverside Park                                

Riverside Park has many activities that are fun for the whole family, such as the miniature train that takes you on a mini journey or the carousel where you can choose to ride a horse or a carriage. At Riverside Park you can also go out on the Speed River in a paddle boat. 

 

Woodlawn Bowl

Woodlawn Bowl has been around for many years and is classic fun. It offers 32 lanes of 10 pin bowling fun. It also offers a small arcade room and a food concession.

 

Gophers Glow-In-The-Dark Mini Golf

This indoor mini golf course is packed full of bright glow-in-the-dark fun for all ages. Gopher’s has 18 holes of golf for you to play through and has a unique “Glow Zone Store” where you can buy lots of glow in the dark items. Gopher’s also has an arcade and snack bar to help keep your kids energy levels up!

 

Recreation Centers: Swimming/Skating

There are three pools in Guelph that offer public swimming and throughout the summer “Free Public Swim Days”. The pools are Victor Davis, West End and Centennial Pool. Swimming is an inexpensive way to blow off some energy for an hour or two. Skating is the winter alternative to swimming. The rinks in Guelph are open to the public certain hours and also offer free public skate times.

 

      Donkey Sanctuary                 

The Donkey Sanctuary offers guided tours of the facility for larger groups, but you are encouraged to take a self-guided tour with the family. Here you learn a lot about donkeys and also about their Adoptive Farms Program. Children can pet the donkeys. Open Sundays and Wednesdays to the public. Donations are appreciated in lieu of an admission price.

 

Guelph Lake

Guelph Lake is a great place to get outside for the day, or camp out for the weekend. The beach is available for everyone to enjoy in the summer months, as well as walking trails, children’s play area and volleyball area. Fishing is also a great activity that is permitted at Guelph Lake.

 

Children’s Museum

Learn about Guelph’s history in a fun interactive way. Here children can put on puppet shows, wee the houses that settlers lived in, and check out the creatures that live in their own back yards.

 

The Tourist Train                         

The Guelph Junction Express is an exciting 2 hour train ride to Campbellville, starting a John Galt Park (behind River Run Centre) and crosses the Speed River, turning around at the Guelph Junction. There are different classes in the train such as the family car where you get complimentary drinks served at your seat. You can also purchase food.

 

Parks

Parks are a great way to be outside in the fresh air and get some exercise. Guelph has over 50 parks with playgrounds. The city parks are free to use and are also where local sports team play, so you can stay and watch a game.

 

Other fun things to do…

Strom’s Farm is lots of fun in the harvest season. They have a pumpkin patch, a rope maze, wagon rides, pumpkin chucking, a corn maze and the delightful bakery.

Festivals- Guelph is home to some of the greatest festivals for all ages. Some annual festivals include the Multicultural Festival, Festival Italiano, Ribfest, Hillside Festival and FaeryFest.

Hockey- Watch the Storm play at the Sleeman Centre all winter long.

Baseball- Cheer the Silvercreeks or the Royals as they knock it out of the park at Hastings Stadium near Exhibition Park.

Rent a canoe or kayak for an hour or for the day at Speed River Canoe and Kayak Rentals

The Boathouse is home to some of the best ice cream in Guelph, and also has a perfect riverside area to eat and play.

Skate Parks- Guelph is home to 2 skate parks. The Ward is an indoor park, and Deerpath is an outdoor park meant for beginners.

Sleeman Centre-has entertainment almost year round, such as hockey, concerts and a circus

The River Run Centre- also offers year round entertainment.
